Roy Gene Thompson

Roy Gene Thompson, 69, of Dalhart, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:30 in the morning on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Dalhart, TX, with Rusty Hancock, pastor of the church, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Roy was born on October 22, 1947 in Dalhart, TX, to Joseph and Cynthia (Thompson) Thompson. He lived in Dalhart all of his life and was a farmhand in the area. He was a veteran, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. He attended First Baptist Church in Dalhart. Roy liked to make jewelry. He loved to collect John Deer tractors and playing card games. He enjoyed watching cartoon shows and playing dominoes. Roy adored his granddaughter Abby (Turtle). Roy is preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Billie Jo Williamson; brothers: Harold and Kenneth Thompson; nephew: Kenny Williamson; and a niece: Diana Thompson. Roy is survived by his wife: Connie Thompson of the home; son: Mark Thompson and wife Alexis of Troy; daughters: Shanna Easley and husband Senca of Ft. Worth, T.J. Thompson and husband Timathy Carranza of Dalhart, and Jaime Jo Thompson and fianc Shane Bramblett of Dalhart; sisters in law: Bonnie Price and Charlene Thompson of both Dalhart, Tammie Stewart and husband Ralph of Channing, and April Reyna and husband Israel of Lockney; 8 grandchildren.
