Ruth Davis Marion of Dumas went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, April 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving husband and children. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o\x92clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church, officiating, assisted by Dr. Heath Marion. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Ruth was born May 19, 1933 in Baca County, Colorado to John and Etta Davis. Ruth married Hugh Marion on June 8, 1951 in Walsh Colorado. They lived in Walsh until they moved to Bloomfield, New Mexico in June 1956. In July 1962, Ruth and Hugh moved to Dumas, Texas, then to Pampa, TX in 1980 and returned to Dumas in 1990.
Ruth accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 10 and was committed to serving the Lord in all aspects of her life. She was a true helpmate and soul mate to Hugh. She faithfully loved and covered her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in prayer while encouraging them to follow the Lord wholeheartedly. Ruth loved studying God\x92s Word and teaching all ages about God\x92s Truth. Next to her love for the Lord, she loved people abundantly. Most dear to her was her Ladies Sunday School Class and many friends over the years. She never wanted attention on herself but always put others\x92 needs above her own. Ruth leaves a strong legacy of loving servanthood.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and their wives: Velmer and Marion Davis, Vesper and Edna Davis, Wayne and Alice Davis, and Randall Davis; a great granddaughter: Arabella Marion; and daughter in law: Claudia Marion.
Ruth is survived by husband Hugh Marion; 2 sons: Royce Marion of Wheeler, TX and Arlen Marion and wife Teri of Dumas, TX; a daughter: Kayla Tucker and husband Larry of Granbury, TX; eight grandchildren: Kristen Moudy and husband Ryon of Wheeler, TX, Keri Terrell and husband Lance of Canyon, TX, Kaylee Marion of Wheeler, Heath Marion and wife Jami of Grand Prairie, TX, Clint Marion and wife Shirley of Denton, TX, Joe Marion of Amarillo, TX, Landree Page of Granbury, TX and Channing Page and wife Ashley of Granbury, TX; and twelve great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters: Ernestine Adson of Pueblo West, Colorado and Genevieve Williams of Nevada, Missouri; two brothers: Keith Davis of Nevada, Missouri and Glen Davis and wife Fay of
Farmington, New Mexico; a sister in law: Tommy Davis of Monte Vista, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
