Sam “Sammy” Ramos, 58 of Dumas passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Fobbs, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.Sammy was born on December 29, 1962, in Dumas, TX to Ben and Maggie (Cargill) Ramos. Born and raised in Dumas he graduated from Dumas Senior High School in 1981. After graduating he went on to attend Amarillo College. After graduating from Amarillo College with a degree in Journalism he then continued his education at the University of Texas at Arlington. He worked for and retired from Pike Ford Auto. Following his retirement, he started working with his wife Belynda at the Fillin’ Station. He had a unique personality, he always said “I’m an acquired taste”. He loved people, he enjoyed visiting with customers and was always kind and friendly. Sammy had many interests such as politics, late night talk show hosts, listening to the police scanner, Fark and reading articles on Reddit. He was always fixing things, loved cars, car shows and music. Some of his favorite artists were, Bush, Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morissette, Foo Fighters and Gavin Rossdale. Above all he was an amazing father and grandfather who adored his family. Nothing was more important to him than spending time with his family. One of his favorite activities was making ice cream sundaes, with all the fixings, on Sunday for his grandchildren. Sammy will be truly missed and forever loved by his family and all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father; uncle: Olen Cargill; grandmother: Faye Cargill.Sammy is survived by his wife, Belynda Jolly, of the home; children: Mallory Ramos and husband Abel of Grand Prairie, TX, Channing Ramos and wife Astrid of Irving, TX, Bryan Ramos of Littleton, CO, Ana Ramos of Abilene, TX; stepchildren: Cody Jolly and wife Heather of Dumas, TX, Koree Castillo and husband Ric of Dumas, TX, Karlee Jolly of Dumas, TX; mother: Maggie Ramos of Dumas, TX; sisters: Jackie Belk and husband John of Dumas, TX, Kristina Prothero and husband Robert of Amarillo, TX, Toni Johnson and husband Richard of Amarillo, TX; daughter-in-law: Carrie Saiz and husband Fernando of Lubbock, TX; son-in-law: Chris Jolly and wife Jessica of Bella Vista, AR; grandchildren who lovingly called him Papa Sam or Popo: Liliana, Rhylee, Barrett, Bensyn, Peyton, Aspyn, Brianna, Iraley, Ariana, and Chris, Jr.; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and other extended family members.
