Scotty DeWayne Nichols

Scotty DeWayne Nichols, 43 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019. Memorial services will be held at 2 oclock in the afternoon on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Tim Pilgrim officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Scotty was born on January 15, 1976 in Dumas, TX where he grew up and attended schools. He had worked maintenance at CEFCO in Fritch. Scotty loved to go fishing and play his playstation. He was a very selfless man who always put others needs in front of his own. He was of Christian Faith and will be missed by his family and friends. Scotty was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Scotty leaves behind his parents: Nelda and Guy Hardwick of Dumas, TX; siblings: Christopher Nichols and wife Angie of Lufkin, TX, Sandy Brooks of Dumas, TX, Stephannie Brooks of Fritch, TX, Billy Brooks and wife Kristen, Wally Brooks Jr. and Buggsy Brooks all of Dumas, TX; step siblings: Branda Hardwick of Dumas, TX, Bubba Hardwick Jr. and Tiffany Hardwick, both of Springtown, TX, Sonya Hardwick of Oklahoma City, OK, Jenny Hardwick of Ft. Worth, TX, Birtie Hardwick of Fritch, TX, Wesley Henry of Dumas, TX, Corina Henry of Midland, TX; his grandparents: Loy and Jan Hardwick of Fritch, TX and his other mother Loretta Holland, Texline, TX; several other extended family members and nieces and nephews that Scotty considered his own. The family suggest with gratitude that memorials be made to Childrens Cancer Society, 500 North Broadway, Suite 1850, St Louis MO 63102. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Jayde Putnam for her care and inspiration to Scotty.
