Shelley Lynn Stovall, 58, passed away early Sunday morning April 25th at Northwest Hospital in Amarillo, TX. The funeral service will be Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2 oclock in the afternoon at Beeson-Morrison Chapel. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 oclock to 8 oclock at Beeson-Morrison Funeral Home, to whom arrangements have been entrusted. Shelley Stovall was born on April 30th, 1962 in Dumas, TX to Lynda Sue and Thomas Stovall. Shelley graduated from Dumas High School in 1980. She completed her cosmetology certification in 1986, then went on to further her education at Amarillo College to become a registered nurse in 1996. Shelley was a natural caregiver, thriving in the world of adult care. She provided excellent nursing for Moore County Hospital patients for more than 10 years and continued caring for elderly residents outside of a hospital setting for many years. The day she became a "Nanny" her life was changed. She was a proud grandmother to 5 wonderful grandkids. Nanny never missed a moment to share a story or picture. Shelley experienced life in a big way. She was able to love big through hard times, laugh big through funny times and cry big through sad times. Shelley loved to live by the rule "to ask for forgiveness instead of permission" so naturally, she forgave big. Her grace was abundant for her loved ones. Although the majority of her adult years were spent dealing with disease in her life, she was able to find joy in her struggles. She was preceded in death by her mother Sue Stovall, her grandparents: Louise and Lee Carpenter, Faye and Rex Stovall. Shelley is survived by her father: Tom Stovall of Dumas, sister Stacey Grall and husband Harold of Dumas, her sons Sean Derrick of Dumas, Levi Derrick and wife Chaveli of San Antonio; grandchildren: Madalynn Derrick, Chandler Derrick, Beau Derrick, Parker Derrick, and Elsa Derrick. Also, surviving are her nephews T.J. McWilliams of Dumas, Dusty McWilliams and wife Kathryn of Dumas; great-nieces and nephews: Justin McWilliams, Zoe McWilliams, Emalyn McWilliams, Sage McWilliams, and Ava McWilliams. We are remembering her life with memorials made to Moore County Hospice and Home Health at 209 S Bliss Ave, Dumas, TX 79029.
