Shelley Tipton

Shelley Tipton 95 passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007 in Dumas, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Dumas Cemetery with Jody Stone, family friend officiating. Shelley was born October 14, 1912 in Moore County, Texas to Charles and Madena Bennett. She was a life time resident of Moore County and owneroperator of Service Supply for over 60 years. Shelley was a talented artist with interest in music, literature, fishing and horses which she shared with her daughters. She told of her grandparents settling in Texas on the Hay Creek and growing up on the Hay Creek Ranch. Shelley didnt know the meaning of you cant do that, youre a woman. She would tell them hide and watch, and go about completing the task. She was truly one of a kind. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy McClary, sister, Mildred Morton and brother, Jesse Bennett. Survivors include; two daughters, Pat Moore and husband Tood of Dumas and Nina Henry and husband J. Roy of Hartland, MI; two sons, Michael Tipton of Amarillo and Robert Tipton of Dumas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
