Shirley Mae Bailey

Shirley Mae Bailey, 76, of Dumas passed away on January 10, 2022. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Dumas Cemetery with Rev. Chris Fobbs, pastor of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are entrusted with Beeson-Morrison Funeral Directors.

Shirley was born May 25, 1945 in Shamrock, TX to Steve and Susie (Erskine) Griffin. Shirley married David Bailey in 1966 and they made Dumas their home. She was a very loving and caring person who guaranteed to leave you laughing and smiling. Shirley was ornery to a fault, she loved playing pranks on friends and family. Besides her family, one of her greatest treasures was collecting anything Elvis. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents; Steve and Susie Griffin; son: Ronnie Bailey; brothers: Dickie and Cloyd Griffin; and her significant friend: Wayne McWilliams.

Shirley is survived by her son David Bailey and wife Kristie of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: David G. Bailey of Dumas, TX, Tristan Cooksey of Colorado, Eric Hibbs of Panhandle, TX, Brandon McWilliams and wife Vicki of Dumas, TX, Kayla Bailey of Panhandle, TX, Dyllan Bailey of Dallas, TX and Lauren Bailey of San Antonio, TX; brother: Gaylon Griffin of Granbury, TX; beloved nephews: Gary Griffin, Gary Dale Griffin both of Dumas, TX; beloved niece: Terry Lynn Phillips of Dumas, TX. She is also survived by many numerous other family and friends.
