March 11, 1941 — June 2, 2022

Shirley Ann DeVorss, 81, of Keyes, OK passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from complications of Alheimers. Memorial Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 23, 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Keyes, Ok with Pastor Matt Montoya, officiating. Shirley was born on March 11, 1941, in Sugar City, CO to Robert and Anna Leonard. Later, the family moved to Ordway, CO where she graduated high school. Shirley gave birth to her oldest daughter, Sandra Dee Leonard on June 1,1965 in Los Angeles, CA. She married the love of her life, Jake DeVorss on January 15, 1967 in Ordway, CO. Jake and Shirley lived in Stratford, TX from 1967-1969 where they had their first child, Debora. The couple then moved back to Ordway, CO and lived there from 1969-1970. Their final move was to Cimarron County, OK in 1970 where they had two more children, Michael and Michelle and raised their family. The couple was married for 55 years. Shirley worked for Cimarron Feeders for 37 years as a janitor. She was a member of the Keyes First Baptist Church where she volunteered in the kitchen. Shirley’s faith was very important to her. You could see the love of Christ in everything that she did. Shirley loved her family deeply. She spoiled her grandkids with special holiday boxes with clothes, candy, and toys. It was always a treat to get a box from grandma in the mail. Shirley loved to cook and her family loved to eat her cooking! Whenever anyone came to visit, she made us our favorites including sour cream sugar cookies, fudge, raisin cookies, Mexican casseroles, banana bread and homemade bierocks. Nobody left her house hungry. She loved spending time with grandkids playing board games, watching movies, and going on trips. Shirley also loved doing crafts, going to bible studies with her friends and family, and going to coffee with her best friend Rosezella.
