Stanley Reed Baker

Stanley Reed Baker, 70, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 29, 2011 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas. Bryan Gary, pastor of 9th and Bliss Church of Christ in Dumas will be officiating. There will be a family visitation at Morrison Funeral Directors in Dumas from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 28, 2011. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Stanley was born to Harvey and Margaret Baker on July 22, 1941 in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1963 and received a JD from St. Marys Law School in San Antonio. Stanley married Charlyn Baer on April 23, 1966. He practiced law in Dumas for 42 years. Stanley enjoyed spending time with his children and leading singing at church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Anthony Baker. Stanley is survived by his wife Charlyn of the home one son, Brent Baker and wife Gina of Omaha one daughter, Sundaye Speed and husband Jeff of Houston five grandchildren: Nicholas, Cortland Ainsley Baker, and Macey Kelsey Speed one sister, Donna Hooker of Abilene and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will be at 203 Bailey in Dumas.
