Steve Bayless, 60 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 in Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas. Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor of First Christian Church in Dumas will be officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Steve was born on November 16, 1951 in Pueblo, Colorado to John and Irene Bayless. He had lived most of his life in the Dumas community. He was a very talented computer tech, and was often referred to as a computer whiz. He also worked at KDDD Radio in Dumas.
Steve was a loving and devoted son. He had been the caregiver for his father, John, for the past several years. Family was very important to Steve, and he really enjoyed spending time with his great nieces, nephews, and his many special friends. He was a lover of music, and enjoyed listening to all varieties. He was of the Christian Faith. Steve will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Bayless, brother, James Bayless, brotherinlaw, Gary Cummins, and one nephew, Michael Cummins. His father, John, passed away the following day, after Steve.
Steve is survived by one sister, Sharon Cummins of Pueblo, CO sisterinlaw, Pat Bayless of Arlington six nieces and nephews, Vicki Lopez and husband, Jesus of Pueblo, Randall Cummins and wife Molly of Cimarron, KS, Pam Simpson of Azle, TX, Julye Byrd and husband Forrest of Azle, Marshall Bayless and wife Suzanne of Grand Prairie, TX, and Kathy Barron and husband, James of Wylie, TX eight great nieces and nephews, Ally, Jennifer, Melanie, Savannah, Aubriana, Jesse Michael, Taylor and Wesley and his special friends, Kandi, Dalton and Paisley Brey.
The family will be at 522 Spruce in Dumas.
