Teresa Powell Murray, 49, of Fritch, died Sunday, December 24, 2006, in Amarillo. Services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2006, at 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Dumas with Rev. Mark Wallis, pastor of Life Tabernacle of Dumas, officiating. Burial will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas.
Mrs. Murray was born January 11, 1957, in Lubbock, TX to Jack D. and Margaret Powell. In 1959, her family moved to Dumas where she graduated from Dumas High School in 1975. On February 21, 1975, she married Joel Wayne Murray in Dumas. In 1982, she moved to Fritch and had been a resident of Fritch for 24 years. She taught school in Fritch, Dumas and the last five years, in Borger teaching Texas History. She was a member of Life Tabernacle in Dumas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack D. Powell on June 7, 1999.
Survivors include: her husband, Joel Murray of the home; one daughter, Mandi Vaden and husband, Zane of Dallas, TX; her mother, Margaret Thomas and husband, Louis of Washburn, TX; one sister, Tammy Payne and husband, James of Dumas; one grandson, Garrett Zane Vaden and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
The family will be at 1015 E 5th St., in Dumas.
