Terrence Eugene Ockerman

Terrence Eugene Ockerman, 59 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Temple Baptist Church in Dumas. Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church, will be officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Terrence was born on October 18, 1952 in Dumas to Roy and Frances Nichols Ockerman. He grew up in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School. Terrence served his country in the US Marine Corp. He lived in Amarillo for a few years, and had recently returned to Dumas. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Terrence was employed at JBS Swift as a Security Guard for the last year. Prior to this, he worked at the VA Hospital in Amarillo. He had a love for music, and enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Ockerman. Terrence is survived by his father, Roy Ockerman of Dumas one brother, Frank Ockerman and wife Nedra of Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma one nephew, David Ockerman and wife Robin of Lubbock and two aunts, Dorothy Bell and Patty Jo Groover, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family will be at 309 Cedar in Dumas.
