Timothy "Duck" Daffern

Timothy “Duck” Daffern, 43 of Sunray passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Sunray Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Houston, officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home in Dumas. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Duck was born on June 24, 1979, to Chester and Tina (Kenway) Daffern in Brawley, CA. He grew up in California where he graduated from Calipatria High School.  After school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 6 years in the security force. He married Marla Quinonez in Mexico on December 13, 2008, and the couple moved to Sunray 10 years ago. Duck was employed by Sunray Coop for 9 years and most recently for JBS. He was a very personable person who enjoyed visiting with people and was always smiling.  He enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.  He also loved the ultimate cheeseburger from Jack in the Box and always made sure his family brought him two of them anytime they came to town. He was a member of Sunray Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by all. 

He was preceded in death by grandparents: William and Juanita Daffern and Harry and Ora Kenway; godson: Brandon Camago. 

Duck is survived by his wife, Marla Quinonez of the home; children: Joshua Daffern, Cadence Daffern, and Sebastian Daffern all of the home; parents: Tina and Chester Daffern of Tonopah, AZ; siblings: Goose Daffern and wife Cortney of Surprise, AZ, Jason Daffern of Tonopah, AZ, Eric Daffern and wife Kristina of Oklahoma City, OK, Breanna Wheeler and husband Brennan of Phoenix, AZ, Ashleigh Daffern and husband Curtis of Wittmann, AZ, Richard Daffern of Wickenburg, AZ, and Elizabeth Daffern of Oklahoma City, OK; numerous nieces and nephews.
