Tom Pool, 56, formerly of Dumas, passed away Monday, November 30, 2009. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 4, 2009 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastors Scott Davey and Doug Gehm officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens with flag detail by American Legion Post 224 of Dumas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Tom Pool was born April 6, 1953 in Dumas, Texas to J.C. and Joyce Pool. He attended Dumas High School and graduated from Frederick High School in 1971. In 1972 he joined the US Air Force. On December 22, 1980 he married his high school sweetheart, Debra Honaker in Frederick, Okla. He attended Tulsa Jr. College transferring to Texas AM where he received a degree in industrial engineering in 1986. In 1992 he received an accounting certificate from Cypress College in California. He enjoyed coaching his sons little league sport teams. He will be remembered for his perseverance and finding pleasure in the simple things of life. Now he lives in the presence of the King we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1966 and older brother, Johnny in 1983.
Survivors include; sons, James LaNouail and his mother, Diane, Thomas and Michael Pool and their mother, Debra; brothers, Mike Pool and wife, Karen of Pittsboro, SC, Bill Pool and wife Marg of Saskatchewan, Canada; sister, Patty Akins and husband, Bob of Amarillo; and his mother Joyce Pool of Amarillo.
