Travis Lee Smith, 36 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 oclock in the morning on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Grace Thru Faith Fellowship with Pastor Jori Buchenau officiating and Pastor Chauncey Spencer assisting. Interment will follow in the Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 6 oclock until 8 oclock in the evening on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Travis was born on July 17, 1982 in Dumas, TX to Terry and Terri (Elliott) Smith. Travis grew up in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School in 2000. Travis married Heather Figger in Satanta, KS on July 18, 2009 and the couple lived in Dumas where they made their home. Travis started his career farming and working harvest and then moved on to the City of Dumas and later for Moore County Road and Bridge Department as a supervisor.
Travis loved to fix things and mechanic on his old truck that he affectionately called "Black Betty". He loved racing and going to the creek with his family. During harvest, he drove a truck for Lonestar Family Farms with his boys often by his side who were his pride and joy. Travis touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Travis was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles and Evelyn Elliott and Harold and Opal Smith.
Travis leaves behind his wife, Heather Smith, of the home; his two boys: Haygen and Stratton Smith of the home; parents: Terry and Terri Smith of Dumas, TX; sisters: Darlise Powell of Canadian, TX and Chanda Morris of Lubbock, TX; father and mother in law: Robert and Evelyn Figger of Dumas, TX; brother in law: Travis Figger of Goodland, KS; numerous other extended family members.
