Tren Douglas Rodgers, 92 formerly of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 o'clock in the morning on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Dan Turner, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Tren was born on December 27, 1922, in Memphis, TX to Charles and Bertie (Allison) Rodgers. Tren attended and graduated from Eastview, OK. He lived in Cactus and worked for Phillips from1948-1960. He became resident of Dumas where he retired from Phillips Chemical Co in 1983 and became a Dumas ISD Bus Driver until 1990's. In 2012, he moved to Amarillo. Tren was a Deacon/Deacon Emeritus at First Baptist Church for many years. He was also an avid sports fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Lahoma Rodgers; two daughters: Trenda Gail and Leslie Karole Rodgers; three sisters: Linda, Kay, and Juanita; one brother: Charles Rodgers.
Tren is survived by his son: Mike Rodgers and wife Kay of Amarillo; four grandchildren Deana Johnson, John Holcomb & wife Traci, Sheryl Holcomb, Wes Holcomb & wife Shelly; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 555 E Hasting, Amarillo, TX 79018.
