Troy H. Gabehart, 83 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020. A Private family service is scheduled at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Dewayne Gion officiating, assisted by Zane Pratt with a private interment to follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 oclock to 7 oclock in the evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Troy was born on June 3, 1937 in Binger, OK to Ray and Opal (Smith) Gabehart. He graduated from Binger High School in 1955. Troy married his wife, JoAnn Hunt on July 11, 1957 in the family home in Cactus, TX and was married to the love of his life for 63 years. He went to work for the Texas Highway Department, then Phillips Petroleum. He went on to Diamond Shamrock where he worked for 36 years until he retired in 2002. Troy had many interests. One he enjoyed the most was watching sports. He was an avid fan of the Dumas Demons and the Dallas Cowboys. Troy also loved hunting, fishing, and camping. However, his greatest joy and blessing was his family. Troy was a true family man. He adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Troy was a member of 14th Street Church of Christ and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Kenneth Gabehart; infant son, Glenn Gabehart. Troy is survived by his wife JoAnn, of the home; children: Troy Don Gabehart and wife Kristi of Johnstown, CO, Tina Monfort and husband Ronnie, Terry Gabehart and wife Misty, Tommy Gabehart and wife Roxanna all of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: T.J. Gabehart, Rance Gabehart, Kya Flaugher, Michael Uresti, Victoria Delgado, Mike Monfort, Megan Monfort, Gavien Gabehart, Makina Gabehart, Dakota Cook, Beth Cook, Trey Gabehart, Tom Gabehart, Kacy Gabehart, Shelby Saxon; 18 great-grandchildren; sister: Jeannie Lopez of Olton, TX; and sister-in-law: Mary Pool of Valliant, OK. The family suggests, with gratitude, memorials be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 41125, Dallas, TX 75284-1125 or American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
