Tyler Vaughn Catherall, 17, of Dumas, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 oclock in the morning, Wednesday, July 10, at First Baptist Church in Dumas with Zane Powers officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. A family visitation will be Tuesday, July 9, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Tyler was born August 24, 2001 and lived with his grandparents, Paul and Mary Catherall. He was a recent graduate of North Plains Opportunity Center in Dumas and was a recipient of a liver transplant in 2010. He liked to fish and was an avid animal lover who was always bringing home stray animals to care for. Tyler especially loved his dog, Titan Beaver Catherall. He enjoyed playing video games and one of his favorite activities was traveling with his family to their cabin in the mountains of New Mexico. Tyler was a member of First Baptist Church in Dumas and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents: Odelle and Colene McAvoy and his great grandfather: Fred Martin Catherall, Sr.
Tyler is survived by his grandparents: Paul and Mary Catherall of the home; great grandmother: Pauline Parker also of the home; father: Damon Catherall of Dumas, TX; mother: Kelly Hutcherson of Amarillo, TX; sisters: Brittany Finley of Ft. Worth, TX, Alyssa Simmons of Amarillo, TX, and Mya Catherall of Canyon, TX; uncle: Anthony Catherall and wife Ashley of Dalhart, TX: paternal grandmother; Malinda Chance of Camden, AR: maternal grandparents: Jack Hutcherson of Dumas, TX and Teresa Finley and husband Rex of Ft. Worth, TX; and numerous other friends and relatives.
