Verlie Moe Neill, 91, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 in Spearman. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 26, at First Baptist Church, Dumas, with Bruce Broxson, family friend and Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery, Sunray, by Morrison Funeral Directors. Verlie Moe Neill was born March 27, 1918 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma to James Luther and Mary Elizabeth Cole. On October 16, 1936 she married Byrd Po Neill at Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1995. They loved to fish and she was a dedicated Rose Lady. She retired from J.C. Penny in 1983. Moe loved to go to garage sales and was an excellent negotiator. She was a beloved and devoted mother and grandmother. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1949 and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters and soninlaw, Lloyd Loman on February 7,1986. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to all of the staff of Hansford Manor and Hansford Hospice for their care of Moe. Survivors include daughters, Barbara Blythe and husband Don of Fritch and Betty Collier and husband Jerry of Dumas grandchildren, Mike Blythe, Terri Miller and husband Kevin, Joe Blythe and wife Cindy, Doug Loman and wife Glenda, Kathy Lee and husband Terry, Brenda Emmert and husband Jeff 16 greatgrandchildren and 18 greatgreatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, Media Ministry, PO Box 617, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 1208 Morton in Dumas.
