Victor Lewis, 98, of Dumas, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at North Plains Christian Church with pastor Tommy Long officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. A family visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 4 from 6 -8 o'clock in the evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Victor was born January 20, 1920 in Wichita, KS to Jack and Phay (Williams) Lewis. After his service in the Army, he made Dumas his home for over 70 years. Victor was pastor for The Cowboy Church in Dumas. He was a master carver and would make jewelry boxes for each member of his family. Victor was a member of Dumas VFW and Noon Lions club, and he had a hand in building most of the houses and buildings in Dumas. He was also a part of the building team for Sunray Pentecostal Church of God in 1955. Victor would spend lots of his time building for the Dumas museum. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Margie Lewis, son: Martin Lewis, and brothers: Donald, Ted, Buck and Ty Lewis.
Victor is survived by daughters: Sonja Cerini of Corona, CA, Jo Berg of Murrieta, CA, Brenda Long of Stratford, TX, Bonnie Archer of West, TX, and Becky Lewis of Ridge Manor, FL: Brother Clint Lewis of Corpus Christie, TX. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren.
