Virginia Ann Cariker, 83 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Dumas Cemetery with Pastor Matt Price of First Baptist Church, officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock on Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Virginia was born on August 30, 1938, in Sunray, TX to Oku and Pauline Frances (Shaw) Hall. She married Turner Allison “T.A” Cariker, Jr. on December 16, 1960, in Dumas, TX; he preceded her in death in 1996. Virginia was a woman that was full of love, she loved her church, her children, grandchildren and her friends. If Virginia loved you, you knew it. She was also very proud of her children and grandchildren and in her younger years she enjoyed dancing. Virginia was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Page, brother Leon Hall and son-in-law Lynn.
Virginia is survived by her son: Turner A. “Socko” Cariker III and wife Jill of Abilene, TX; daughter: Gail “Poochie” Penka of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren: Justin Drake and wife Kaylyn of Amarillo, TX, Connor Cariker and wife Heather of Salado, TX, Allison Wesson and husband Jefferson of Abilene, TX and Teal Mills and husband Kevin of Manhattan, KS; great-grandchildren: Beckam Drake, Taos Drake, Memphis Cariker, Wallace Wesson; and her faithful companion: Bogey.
