Virginia 'Ginger' Smith, 83 of Dumas passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Seth Seale, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock in the evening on Thursday. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Ginger was born on January 2, 1933 in Tyler, TX to Andrew and Virgie (Rushing) Prim. On April 7, 1951, she was united in marriage to Garland Smith in Dallas and had been a resident of Dumas since 1964. She worked for Spudnuts and cooked for the Dumas Noon Lions Club. She was an excellent cook, loved sewing and playing games on her computer. Ginger will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents and a brother: Andrew Prim.
Ginger is survived by her husband, Garland, of the home; daughters: Micah Jones of Bernalillo, NM, Wendi Smith of Amarillo, TX; son: Andrew Smith and wife Patricia of Leander; grandchildren: Valerie Mitchell, Dustin Smith, and Rachel Lightbody; nieces: Marsha Candler, Patty, Peggy Kilgo.
