Walker Ray Cooksey, 21 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Grady Burkhalter, longtime family friend, officiating. Walker will be available for viewing on Friday from 1 oclock in the afternoon until 8 oclock in the evening and on Saturday at 10 oclock in the morning with the family receiving friends from 4 oclock until 8 oclock that evening. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Walker was born on October 30, 1998 in Dumas, TX to Charles and Cynthia (Ray) Cooksey. He grew up in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School in 2018. Walker worked at Wal-Mart where he was the Meat Market Manager. He loved his dogs and helping his dad remodel the home. Walker was a gentle soul that would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Walker was preceded in death by his great grandparents.
Walker is survived by his parents, Charles and Cynthia Cooksey of the home; siblings: Braxton Cooksey and Trinity Cooksey of the home; grandparents: Charles and Mary Jane Ray of Amarillo, TX and Bobby and Dana Cooksey of Dumas, TX; aunts: Jenny Ray of Amarillo, TX and Debra Cooksey of Dumas, TX; cousins: Desimber Goodman, Kimberlee Pierce, Daphne Cooksey, Tristan Cooksey, Kegan Dempsky, Grayson Pierce, Peyton Goodman, Presleigh Goodman, Alexander Childers, Samantha Childers and Michael Comstock; his beloved dogs: Princess, Kratos, Poseidon and Medusa.
