Wayne A. Ross

Wayne A. Ross, 87, passed away Tuesday, February, 10, 2009 in Dumas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Gotebo Cemetery, Gotebo, Okla, with Dr. Danny Maxwell, discipleship pastor of Arden Road Baptist Church, Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Wayne A. Ross was born July 5, 1922 in Dill City, Oklahoma to Davis and Maudie Ross. He served in the US Army during WW II. On January 31, 1949 he married Roma Lee Shipman at Wheeler, TX. He worked 23 years for American Zinc Co. and 20 years for the State of Texas Road and Bridge Department. After his retirement in 1987 he enjoyed working on cars and traveling. Wayne had been a resident of Dumas for more than 58 years and was a member of Dumas Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by a brother, Adrain Ross and a sister, Doris Daniels. Survivors include; his wife, Roma Lee of the home; a brother, Boyd Ross of Earlsboro, OK; and sister, Wanda Ledford of Mountain View, OK. and several nieces and nephews.
