Zigmas "Zig" Friemel

Zigmas “Zig” Friemel, 83 of Dumas passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chirs Fobbs, officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Zig was born December 14, 1940 in Lithuania to Alfred and Rose (Rickwards) Friemel. He married Virginia Harris on June 26, 1962 in Dimmitt, TX. Zig worked at Valero and retired after 26 years. He had a deep love for the outdoors and could sit outside for hours soaking up the sun. Zig also enjoyed working on cars, fishing, firearms, playing the guitar and singing. He was of Christian faith and will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Francis, Leonard and Joe; great-grandchild: Romeo Martinez. 

Zig is survived by his wife, Virginia of the home; children: Vincent Friemel of Dumas, TX, Stacie Pate of Dumas, TX, Buford Friemel of Amarillo, TX, and Randy Friemel of Bettendorf, IA; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brothers: Fritz Friemel of Amarillo, TX and Frank Ray of Chicago, IL.
